Process Automation of Customs Clearance for a freight forwarder
The Freight Forwarders engaged in exports should follow different levels of process that works together in delivering the goods to the destination. Before actually importing or exporting goods, the goods have to be cleared by the Customs authorities. Certain documentation provided to customs while exporting from India. The Indian Customs has defined a well structured procedure of customs clearance in exports and electronized most part of it.
There is a standalone application (RES – Exports) provided by the Indian customs for generating the Shipping Bill. This Shipping Bill is submitted in the Customs Web portal from where the customs approves/rejects the exports. Besides this after the approval from customs for exporting the goods the Exporter/CHA should submit various documents.
Warehouse management system or in a broader term 3PL model can be defined as a set of activities which cover either partially or fully the logistics requirements of a manufacturer or service provider, fulfilled by an independent entity by using it's own assets and capabilities on behalf of the manufacturer or service provider.
