Logesys offers the service of Customised software Development, with the prime objective of Enabling Growth for its client’s. Our processes are customized to meet the uniqueness of Logesys approach so as to ensure that the end product is of high quality, delivered on time with minimum deviation from the clients’ requirement.
Customised Software Development Model: To begin with, our Business Domain experts take up a client’s challenge. With the deep understanding of the business and associated processes, these experts conceptualize the client’s requirements, look for best practices in the industry, perform system study and do a thorough analysis on the requirements. They employ the best in class methods and tools for this which is an inter weave of Six Sigma and Lean Principles. These experts determine which of the 3 defined paths – Software Development, Package Implementation, Systems Integration - the solution should follow to meet the client’s needs. With the path determined, our technically strong development team takes over the execution of the project. Elaboration on each of the 3 paths:
Software Development
Logesys follows the proven Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) practices for it’s software development process which is an renowned IT industry standard for quality assurance. The development process in itself flows through the various stages in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) right from Design, Development, Testing through till Deployment. In addition, we do have strong processes to support project execution which ensure that the overall schedule is kept in-tact and issues are highlighted in a proactive manner, so as to ensure smooth operations. Some of these processes include Project Management, Requirements Change Management, Reviews et.al. and tools include Project Management suite such as Resource Management, Defect Tracking, Schedule Tracker, Traceability Matrix et.al. Our technical team is armed with technical certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional furthering our delivery standards.
Logesys has built a lot of tools to ensure projects are executed with ease and quality. These tool which were built indigenously, evolve on a Continuous Improvement basis. These tools act as a major differentiator for Logesys from it’s competition as these help Logesys to ensure quality and timely delivery with minimum deviation from requirement. Some of these tools are SPAM – System for Project Activity Management, Knowledge Centre – A Knowledge Repository, Dashboards – Visual Graphics Tools.
Package Implementation
Packaged solutions are effective typically when the time to deploy is short and a trade-off can be reached between functionality and time to deploy. In this space, Logesys adds value by understanding the client’s business processes and requirements for a product, look up packages available in the market place, aid in evaluating the products available and help in making an informed decision while selecting the product. In addition, we play a vital role by taking care of any customization requirements and provide support during implementation and training activities.
Systems Integration
Our expertise in Systems Integration comes into play during two scenarios - when a client has made investments in various IT solutions or products over a period of time and feels that the investments need to be optimized by drawing in on synergies; or requires us to integrate the various IT systems they have or intend to procure thereby ensuring continuity in the process flow. Our capabilities in this arena include:
• Understand the client requirements
• Study the systems in detail
• Analyse the Gaps in the systems
• Build wrap around solutions targeting the gaps
In addition, we bring our technical expertise to the table in building a strong holistic system through the latest proven technologies such as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The result is a robust and scalable system which provides for a smooth flow of business processes and functions.
Industry Solutions
Logesys, with its strong logistics domain knowledge and technical superiority, has the expertise to develop the following IT solutions for a Logistics player that lie within the operating environment of a Freight Forwarder as well as at the peripheral points where a seamless interface with the Shipper, Carrier and an Agent (in case of 3rd Party Networks at the consignee end) is a must.
Strong Logistics domain knowledge coupled with technical expertise has led us to develop the following solutions for a Logistics Player.
Integrated Customs Clearance
Indian Customs Dept. has provided a free package named RES to be used by CHAs to electronically file shipping information to ICEGATE.
Pain Area: Some of the problems with RES include
• Duplication of data entry in ERP and RES
• Lot of manual work like file upload, status check, SB number update etc.
• Customs documents like Annexure, Appendix, GSP, CO etc. are prepared and stored
manually
• Only one CHA license can be used per installation
• Post Shipment information is not stored and tracked
• No MIS reports available
Solution: Our solution, Integrated Customs Clearance acts as an enabler for the Customs Clearance Process by automating the data exchange between existing ERP application and Indian Customs Web portal through seamless integration with the existing ERP application. The high level of automation propels your organization to attain the productivity dreams and produces marked improvement in transaction quality, both targeting reduction of business risks. Access controlled centralized database protects your sensitive business data and is a shot in the arm to your risk management strategies. Robust real time reporting gives visibility into operations and provides the power of information to make informed decisions. The application is well suited to meet organizational growth demands with its highly scalable feature and is customizable to tap into the strength of your unique business model.
Integrated EDI Solution
Purpose: For Data interchange between Freight Forwarder and his customers, business partners and their own international branches. A study by the EDI Group, Ltd., reported that companies using EDI experienced the below benefits.
• Reduced cycle times of 40.3%
• Drop in error rates from an average 10.1% to 4.4%.
• Cost savings averaged $2.20 per document
Advantages of EDI : Improves Customer Service - Because information is available on a "real time" basis, and is more accurate, concerns and questions of customers can be addressed more effectively. Strengthens Supplier Relationships - The sharing of information which results from EDI tends to build trust, strengthens the ties between partners and encourages stronger levels of commitment.

Our strengths : Our technical partnership with Softshare, a world leader in providing EDI tools augmented by a well trained team that has proven expertise in analyzing and customizing EDI implementation based on the client needs are our strengths.
Operation Automation
When with operation is disintegrated (i.e manual), some of the drawbacks are high human dependency, high fatigue rate, high probability of service quality issues, lack of clarity in performance objectives resulting in hindrance to growth.
Solution: With an integrated and highly automated operation, the whole gambit of a transaction right from shipper through to consignee is a smooth flow. Some of the key benefits include:
• Seamless integration of Core operational application, Customs Clearance & CRM etc.
• Enables Data flow between applications and hence avoids human intervention
• Process control is passed from one step to the next ensuring service quality, timeliness etc.
Management Information Systems (MIS)
The power of information lies in the ability to pull the required data at any point and interpret the same in a meaningful fashion. When there is no MIS, things one stand to loose include:
• No accurate or real time status on Process metrics
• Control limits for process deviations cannot be defined
• Uninformed risks in profitability decisions
• Performance parameters are not measurable for products , individuals and departments
Solution: The MIS solution we have developed includes multiple levels of reporting with cascading and drill through functionalities. Some of the various reporting are:
Operational Reporting - Daily reports, User Level reports, Scheduled Reports, Scenario reports. Control Reporting - QA Reports, Deviation Reports, Performance Reports. On demand Reporting - On the fly data extraction, Customized reports for detailed analysis of process and financial metrics. Visual Reporting - Digital Dashboards for each function, User level dashboards. Score Card Reporting - Corporate Score Card, Department Score Card, Team Score Card, Individual Score Card.
